A Supposedly Fun Thing I'm Doing Right Now (Part 2)

I just now realized I didn't pack enough t-shirts and shorts for this vacation. Instead, I packed way too many pairs of underwear and socks. I don't even need the socks since I'm wearing sandals most of the time. Also, my wife just noticed a weird, red, bumpy rash has broken out on my chest. Despite all this, today went much better than yesterday.

My daughter and I went into a hot tub, and it immediately filled up with nine, boys and girls who appeared to be between the ages of ten and twelve. They soon began splashing each other and ended up inadvertently hitting us. My daughter didn't like getting splashed, so we moved to a pool.

At lunch, I smashed an old woman's hand with the leg of a chair while trying to put together seating at a table. I immediately dropped the chair and apologized , asking if she was okay. She grabbed at her hand and just looked at me with the most frightened, old woman face I'd ever seen. She didn't say a word, and neither did the people she was sitting with. They appeared to be her children and grandchildren. Maybe none of them spoke English.

At dinner tonight, I had the most delicious, basmati, vegetarian rice dish. I'd only ever had Hindi food once before. It's something both my wife and I like. We both agreed we should have it more often.

I'm halfway through the Chuck Klosterman book I brought. We'll be in Bermuda tomorrow afternoon, and I'm considering picking up another book, as well as some shirts and shorts.

Your comments are funny, complex, straightforward, sincere and irrevent. I am glad you had the experiences that you did. Bermuda is a beautiful island. I know you will remeber the fun, striking moments, particularly with Alexandra.

P.S. See you after work on Friday.
